Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older, and your rectal cancer was confirmed by biopsy.
  • Your cancer is localized rectal adenocarcinoma (not spread to distant organs), in a specific TNM stage group.
  • Your tumor is microsatellite stable (MSS), not MSI-high.
  • Your overall health is good enough for treatment (ECOG 0–1).
  • A tumor board recommends short-course radiation plus surgery before treatment begins.
  • You can provide tumor tissue that has not had radiation before (archived block or a fresh biopsy).
