Who can take part

  • You are under 30 years old when you enroll.
  • Your liver cancer is confirmed by biopsy (or it can be a related category called HCN NOS), and it has come back or is not responding to treatment.
  • Your doctor can measure at least one tumor spot on scans or exam (a “measurable” lesion).
  • Your general activity level is good enough: Karnofsky score ≥60 if age 16 or older, or Lansky score ≥60 if under 16.
  • You must have enough bone marrow and organ function (blood counts, liver tests, kidney tests, and thyroid tests) and you must have fully recovered from side effects of any past cancer treatment.
  • You must not have had pembrolizumab or any other immune “checkpoint” drugs before, and you must not be on certain medicines (like chronic steroids or other investigational drugs).
