Who can take part
- You are older than 16 years
- You can (or your legal decision-maker can) give consent under the Mental Capacity Act
- You are in the ICU for status epilepticus treatment or you were admitted for another reason and were diagnosed with status epilepticus during the stay
- Your seizure type fits convulsive status epilepticus: tonic-clonic for over 5 minutes, or focal seizures with impaired awareness for over 10 minutes, or non-convulsive status epilepticus by accepted criteria
- Your seizures are still happening after treatment with a benzodiazepine and one antiepileptic medication
- You do not have anoxic brain injury (brain injury from lack of oxygen)
