Who can take part
- Be age 18 or older
- Have had a non-injury (not traumatic) cardiac arrest outside the hospital
- Be in a coma on admission, meaning you are not following commands
- Have return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) within 45 minutes
- Be admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) with continuous EEG (brain wave) monitoring started within 7 days of ROSC
- The seizure condition must be confirmed as refractory status epilepticus using continuous EEG
