Who can take part
- You have esophagus squamous cell cancer and already had curative surgery plus full lymph node removal (no chemo or radiation before surgery)
- Your tumor or lymph node involvement was more than minimal (T at least 3 or N at least 1), and more than 15 lymph nodes were removed
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- Your day-to-day function is good (ECOG 0 or 1—meaning you are fully active or limited but not bedridden)
- Your blood counts are adequate for chemotherapy (neutrophils, platelets, and hemoglobin are above set minimums)
- Your liver and kidney function are adequate for chemotherapy
