Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma from an endoscopy biopsy
- Your tumor is in the chest portion of the esophagus (not the upper neck or stomach area)
- Your cancer is stage cII to III after neoadjuvant treatment, and you may have surgery (no distant spread)
- You have no big neck lymph nodes on imaging (size limits: <0.8 cm on CT/ultrasound)
- Your overall health is good enough for surgery (age 18–75, ECOG 0–1, expected survival ≥12 months)
- Your blood tests, lung function, liver, and kidney function meet the lab thresholds in the study
