This study looks at how “blood sugar variability” (how much glucose levels bounce around) may affect thinking and memory in people with prediabetes. You may be eligible if you’re older and don’t already have diabetes or conditions that can strongly affect the brain or blood vessels.

Who can take part
- Be age 50 or older
- Have at least an 8th-grade education
- Do not have diagnosed type 1 or type 2 diabetes
- Do not take diabetes medicines (pills or insulin) or medicines that strongly raise blood sugar (like certain steroids)
- Do not have major long-term health problems like stroke, kidney disease, or recent cancer
- Do not have dementia or suspected dementia, major neurological disorders, HIV, or heavy alcohol use
