Who can take part

  • You have metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer confirmed by biopsy (adenocarcinoma, not small cell/neuroendocrine).
  • Your cancer is still progressing despite ongoing testosterone-lowering treatment (orchiectomy or continuous GnRH therapy) and your testosterone is very low.
  • Your prior treatments fit the trial’s specific pattern: limited numbers of hormone tablets and limited taxane (docetaxel-type) chemotherapy, with some parts allowing only fewer prior treatments.
  • You can’t have certain recent therapies or conditions, like untreated brain/spine metastases, recent major surgery, or anti-cancer treatment within 4 weeks.
  • Your heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, and blood counts must be within safe ranges, and you should be well enough to do daily activities (performance status 0–1).
  • If you join the “retreatment” part, you must have previously benefited from AMG 509 and agree to a new tumor biopsy before starting again.
