Who can take part

  • Your baby must be under 4 weeks old (about the first month of life) OR in the clinic’s outpatient group seen before age 2.
  • Your baby was born very early (preterm) and has bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), based on standard definitions.
  • The baby must be breathing on room air or only needing low-flow oxygen—and can keep oxygen levels normal for a short time (up to about 3 minutes) without needing higher support.
  • The baby must not need a breathing machine or breathing mask support (no positive-pressure ventilation).
  • The baby must not have a known genetic condition or a major birth defect that affects the lungs or overall health.
