Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older
- You fit one of these groups: STEMI heart attack, NSTEMI heart attack, stable coronary artery disease, ischemic stroke, or a healthy control group
- If you have stable coronary disease, you should not have unstable chest pain or any recent “acute coronary syndrome” symptoms
- If you are in the ischemic stroke group, your stroke must be confirmed as ischemic on CT or MRI
- You must be able to give informed consent (except the ischemic stroke group, per the study plan), and you cannot be pregnant
- You cannot have had a stroke of any type in the last 12 months
