- You agree to join the study
- You have colon cancer of the type adenocarcinoma
- Your tumor is on the left side of the colon, between the splenic flexure and the rectosigmoid area
- Your cancer stage is advanced but not spread to distant organs (cM0)
- You can tolerate chemotherapy and you are generally healthy enough for surgery (ASA 1–3)
- You have not had chemotherapy or radiation before
