Who can take part
- You are scheduled for a diagnostic cardiac catheterization (a test done to look at your heart arteries).
- The procedure will be done through a small sheath (a small tube used to access an artery).
- Your ulno-palmar circulation is open and working (blood can still reach your hand through an alternate route).
- Your hand’s ulno-palmar circulation is not abnormal and you do not have blocked/failed alternate blood flow.
- You have no history of HIT (heparin-induced low platelets/bad reaction to heparin) and no allergy to heparin.
