  • You are scheduled for heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine.
  • You have a condition called heparin resistance (your blood does not thin enough with a high dose of heparin).
  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You can provide written or electronic consent to join the study.
  • If you can become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test within 2 weeks before surgery.
