Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have severe mitral valve disease causing symptoms (either severe narrowing, moderate-to-severe leaking, or a mix).
  • Your symptoms are at least moderate (NYHA Class II or higher).
  • A heart team thinks placing a valve is likely to help you, and open mitral surgery is high-risk or not safe for you.
  • You agree to the procedure, sign consent, and return for follow-up visits every year for up to 5 years.
  • You cannot be a good surgical candidate for this “less-invasive valve” study option.
