Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have severe mitral valve leakage (grade 3+ or higher), which means the valve does not close properly and blood flows backward.
  • You must have symptoms of heart failure that limit your daily activities (NYHA class III or IV).
  • Your risk for traditional heart surgery must be high but not too high (STS score less than 10%).
  • You must be able to attend follow-up visits and provide informed consent.
  • You must not have certain other heart conditions, recent surgeries, or medical issues that could interfere with the study.
