Who can take part

  • You’re age 2 or older and have status epilepticus or signs of immune-related brain inflammation, or you’re 18+ for a comparison group
  • You have French health coverage through the usual system (not AME—Aide Médicale d’État)
  • You (or your legal guardian/representative) can give free, written consent after being informed
  • You are not currently known to be pregnant (or pregnancy is not detected by a clinician)
  • You are not in a situation where you are deprived of liberty (for example, legal detention)
  • You do not have certain other brain illnesses (like neurodegenerative disease), and for the immune group you have not already had cortisone/steroid pills or IVIg treatment
