Who can take part

  • You must be an adult (over 18 years old).
  • You must have ARDS with a specific oxygen measurement (PaO2/FiO2 ratio under 150) within the last 24 hours.
  • Your blood pressure must be stable (mean arterial pressure over 65) and, if you need norepinephrine, it must be below 0.5 µg/kg/min.
  • You must have had at least 1, but fewer than 5, prone-positioning sessions (PP sessions).
  • You must be on continuous IV sedation or not able to respond to simple commands.
  • A support person or family must be able to sign consent with you.
