Who can take part
- Be between 18 and under 90 years old
- Have a specific kind of brain bleed: aneurysm-related SAH (severity roughly Hunt and Hess 3–5)
- Have an aneurysm that needs repair with clipping or coiling
- Had a brain angiogram (digital subtraction angiography) before the aneurysm is repaired
- Get the aneurysm repaired within 72 hours of the bleed, and treatment within 24 hours of symptom onset
- Need an external ventricular drain (a tube to help drain spinal fluid)
