Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You had a brain aneurysm that burst and are in relatively stable condition (Hunt and Hess score 3 or less).
- You are able to have a lumbar drain placed or already have one as part of your care.
- You need to join the study within 72 hours of coming to the hospital after your bleeding episode, or within 24 hours of having the lumbar drain placed.
- You were able to do your daily activities without help before this bleeding (modified Rankin scale 0 or 1).
- You are not pregnant and do not have an active infection in your brain or spine.
