Who can take part

  • You are in the ICU for sepsis or septic shock, diagnosed by accepted 2016 criteria.
  • Your infection symptoms started less than 4 days before ICU admission.
  • You have been in the hospital less than 48 hours before ICU admission.
  • You need a breathing machine (invasive mechanical ventilation) and it is expected to last more than 2 days.
  • You can receive nutrition through a feeding tube only (exclusive enteral nutrition).
