  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be in the ICU at Angers University Hospital
  • Have septic shock, including ongoing low blood pressure needing vasopressors and a high lactate level despite enough IV fluids
  • Not have a known (preexisting) mitochondrial disease
  • Not be pregnant (or currently giving birth)
  • Not be under legal protection, an unwilling participant, or have aplasia
