Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older and in the intensive care unit (ICU).
- You must have a severe infection (such as sepsis) that is confirmed or strongly suspected.
- Your lymphocyte count (a type of white blood cell that fights infection) must be low, checked twice at least 12 hours apart.
- You must be receiving standard care for sepsis as per current guidelines.
- The first dose of the study drug must be given within 72 hours of recognizing the infection.
- You cannot be pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain severe liver problems or recent cancer treatments.
