This study aims to improve diagnosis and treatment planning for people with severe obesity—especially when it may be related to a genetic cause or a brain condition affecting appetite. You may be invited if your case includes clues from your history or symptoms, and you can consent to genetic testing discussions as part of usual care.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older, or under 18 with very high weight for age (BMI Z-score above +3)
  • Your obesity and/or eating-related disorder is being evaluated at a participating clinic
  • Your situation suggests a genetic cause or a strong reason a genetics work-up is needed (for example, very early obesity, very severe weight, eating disorder, hormone/endocrine problems, or other related signs)
  • Alternatively, your obesity may be linked to a brain area problem (like craniopharyngioma) affecting appetite
  • You (or a parent/guardian for children) agree to join and sign informed consent
