Durvalumab plus chemo before surgery for high-risk upper urinary tract cancer
Part of Cancer clinical trials.
This trial studies whether durvalumab (an immunotherapy) given with chemotherapy before surgery can improve outcomes for people with high-risk cancer in the kidney pelvis or ureter. It is mainly looking at safety and effectiveness in shrinking or controlling the cancer before treatment continues.

Who can take part
- You must be able to sign consent and understand the study.
- You have high-grade (fast-growing/high-risk) urothelial cancer in the kidney pelvis or ureter, confirmed by biopsy or urine testing and CT scan findings.
- You have not had any prior medicines that affect the whole body for cancer (no prior systemic therapy).
- Your overall health is good enough for treatment: performance status 0–1 and weight above 30 kg.
- Your blood tests must meet thresholds (for example: neutrophils >1500, platelets >100,000, hemoglobin >9) and your liver/kidney and clotting tests must be within limits.
- Your scan should show no distant spread (M0) and no more than limited lymph node involvement (N0 or N1).

This trial tests a combination of two drugs, enfortumab vedotin and pembrolizumab, given before surgery for upper tract urothelial cancer. The goal is to see if this treatment can shrink the tumor and improve outcomes for patients who are candidates for surgery.
This Phase 2 study tests giving standard chemotherapy first, then immunotherapy, followed by major surgery to remove the bladder/urinary tumor and nearby lymph nodes. It’s for people with locally advanced urothelial cancer whose cancer has at least not worsened after initial chemotherapy.
This trial tests whether adding an immunotherapy drug (durvalumab) to chemotherapy before surgery can improve outcomes for people with high-grade upper tract urothelial cancer. It compares different treatment approaches based on whether a patient can receive cisplatin chemotherapy.
This trial tests a combination of durvalumab (an immunotherapy) with standard chemotherapy before and after bladder removal surgery for muscle-invasive bladder cancer. It aims to see if adding durvalumab helps improve outcomes while keeping side effects manageable.
This trial tests a combination of a targeted drug (disitamab vedotin), an immunotherapy (toripalimab), and radiation before surgery for people with high-risk upper tract urothelial cancer (UTUC). The goal is to see if this approach improves outcomes before and after surgery.
This trial tests whether combining the immunotherapy drug tislelizumab with the chemotherapy drug nab-paclitaxel before surgery can help treat high-risk upper tract urothelial cancer. The goal is to shrink the tumor and improve outcomes for patients who are planning to have their kidney and ureter removed.
