Fast-stroke treatment workflow study to save minutes to clot removal

Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older (or legally able to consent in your area).
  • Have a stroke severity score (NIHSS) of 10 or higher before randomization.
  • Have little or no disability before this stroke (modified Rankin score 0 to 2).
  • Be in the treatment window: usually within 6 hours of symptom start, or a wake-up stroke where the last known well was under 12 hours and symptoms were found within 6 hours of arrival.
  • Have no major bleeding risk (for example: very low platelets, severe clotting problems, or certain blood thinners with very high INR).
  • Agree to consent and have the hospital team and equipment ready right away for clot-removal treatment (angiography suite and endovascular team available).
