Testosterone-like treatment plus radium for bone-spread prostate cancer

Who can take part

  • You have prostate cancer confirmed by biopsy or surgery, and it is mostly adenocarcinoma
  • Your cancer has spread to the bone (seen on a bone scan within 2 months)
  • Your testosterone level is in the “low castration” range (≤ 50 ng/dL) and your cancer is still progressing
  • Your PSA blood test is at least 2.0 ng/mL
  • You are taking bone-protecting medicine (zoledronic acid or denosumab) for at least 4 weeks and will continue it
  • Your body can handle treatment (ECOG 0–1) and you are not using opioid pain meds (strong opioid pain meds are not allowed)
