Who can take part
- You are 18 or older.
- You have been in an ICU/critical care unit for more than 24 hours.
- You are on IV medicines to support blood pressure (vasoactive therapy) and/or you are on a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation, including non-invasive).
- Your care team plans to start kidney replacement therapy (RRT) right away for acute kidney injury, or you will need extra RRT sessions soon.
- You have not already had 2 or more RRT sessions during this ICU stay.
- You do not have serious liver failure or certain other kidney problems (like suspected blockage or specific immune/rapid-scarring kidney diseases).
