Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You (or a legal representative) must be able to sign consent in writing.
  • Your doctor must expect you to live more than 2 years after the repair.
  • You need a thoracic aorta repair or replacement of multiple damaged segments (such as a high-risk aneurysm, urgent acute dissection, or certain congenital aortic problems).
  • You must be able to have open surgical repair that may involve stopping blood flow (circulatory arrest).
  • You must not be pregnant and must not have serious irreversible brain damage (like severe brain malperfusion/coma) or an active whole-body infection.
