Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with macular degeneration (AMD if age 60+, or JMD if age 18+).
  • Your eyesight in your better eye is reduced but still within a specific range (between 6/9 and 6/96).
  • Your near vision (with best correction) is at least 4.0M at 40 cm in your better eye.
  • Your central vision has been affected, and your vision has been stable for the past 3 months.
  • You do not have dementia, and you can read either English (Waterloo site) or Chinese characters (Hong Kong site).
  • You cannot have recent eye procedures or certain brain-stimulation risks during the study period.
