Who can take part

  • You’re between 21 and 65 years old.
  • You can sign an informed consent form.
  • You are a heavy drinker (about 20+ standard drinks per week for at least 12 weeks) and are not in alcohol treatment.
  • If you can get pregnant: you must have a negative pregnancy test, not breastfeed, and use approved birth control or abstain.
  • You must not have a history of serious allergic reactions to PCSK9 medicines (like alirocumab) or similar antibodies.
  • You likely must have stable key health tests (liver/kidney/diabetes/cholesterol) and no major uncontrolled illness.
