Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old with a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 35.
- Your fasting LDL (bad cholesterol) must be at least 70 mg/dL for most groups, or at least 100 mg/dL for a special group.
- Your fasting Lp(a) (a type of cholesterol linked to heart disease) must be at least 25 nmol/L for most groups, or at least 100 nmol/L for a special group.
- Your fasting triglycerides (another blood fat) must be less than 400 mg/dL.
- You have no significant liver or kidney problems, and your liver enzymes are not too high.
- You have not used any gene therapy, special cholesterol-lowering drugs, or smoked more than 2 cigarettes a day in the last 3 months.
