Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have severe (end-stage) lung disease and a suspected or confirmed stage I lung cancer, and it isn’t treatable with cure-level surgery or SBRT.
  • Your cancer must fit one of these patterns: multiple spots in the lungs, or a few isolated metastases in one or both lungs after the main tumor was removed, with no other areas of spread.
  • You are eligible for a lung transplant, except that the cancer diagnosis is the main reason you need this study.
  • Your scans show no spread to mediastinal lymph nodes (using EBUS) and no distant metastases on PET or brain imaging.
  • You must be able to understand the study, read, and sign informed consent.
  • You cannot have had prior chest/mediastinal radiation that would block re-irradiation due to overlap with the needed treatment area.
