Who can take part

  • You must be age 18 or older at the time of knee surgery
  • Your surgeon must decide you’re a good candidate for a first (primary) total knee replacement
  • You must be having this specific GMK Sphere TiNb coated implant placed
  • You must be willing and able to sign written consent before surgery
  • You should not have metal implants that contain cobalt (Co), chromium (Cr), or nickel (Ni)
  • You should not have had workplace or environmental exposure to toxic metals like Co, Cr, or Ni (for example, welding or certain industrial paints/solvents)
