  • You are caring for a child younger than 18 years old
  • A doctor suspects pertussis (“whooping cough”) for the child
  • The pediatrician has requested a lab/biological test to check for pertussis
  • The child should have symptoms (not just an exposure with no symptoms)
  • The child should not be a case where pertussis was not suspected by the pediatrician
