This trial studies whether olaparib (a targeted cancer medicine) can help prevent pancreatic cancer from coming back after surgery in people with BRCA1, BRCA2, or PALB2 mutations. You would get olaparib or a placebo (inactive pill) and be closely followed to see if recurrence is reduced.

Who can take part
- Be 18 or older, and in fairly good shape (ECOG 0 to 2).
- Have had pancreatic cancer surgery with no sign of the cancer coming back yet.
- Have BRCA1, BRCA2, or PALB2 mutation from approved genetic testing (tumor or blood).
- Have completed at least 12 weeks of chemotherapy around the time of surgery, and be within 12 weeks of your last treatment.
- Be at least 21 days since your last treatment and be well enough to take the study medicine (few lingering side effects).
- Have lab test results that are high enough (blood counts, liver, and kidney) and not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
