Who can take part
- You have papillary or follicular thyroid cancer (differentiated thyroid cancer) proven by a pathology report
- Your cancer can’t be fully removed with surgery, or it has spread to places where surgery can’t remove it completely
- Your scans show leftover tumor that “takes up” radioactive iodine, but the uptake is lower than expected, so iodine alone is unlikely to work
- You must be 18 to 85 years old, and you should have enough kidney, blood, and bone-marrow function for study treatment planning
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you must be willing to use effective birth control if needed
- You must not have certain medical situations that make radioactive iodine or external beam radiation unsafe
