Who can take part

  • You are 14 to 79 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with differentiated thyroid cancer (the most common type).
  • You had surgery to remove all or nearly all of your thyroid, but some cancer cells were left behind (called R1 or R2 resection).
  • You have not had radiation therapy to your head or neck before.
  • You have not had radioactive iodine (I-131) treatment before.
