Who can take part

  • You are being seen at Bordeaux University Hospital for a serious heart rhythm problem (such as ventricular fibrillation or sudden resuscitated death) or for concerning symptoms like fainting (syncope).
  • Or you are being evaluated because of suspected inherited sudden-death risk or because prior ECG or Holter tests were abnormal.
  • Or you are scheduled for or being considered for a preventive implantable defibrillator (a device to stop dangerous rhythms), due to a higher heart rhythm risk.
  • Your age is 14 years or older (the study excludes children under 14).
  • If you can become pregnant, you must use effective birth control; the study excludes pregnancy and breastfeeding.
