Who can take part

  • You have a weakened heart muscle (cardiomyopathy) with a pumping ability between 35% and 50% and at least one other risk factor for sudden cardiac death.
  • Or, if your pumping ability is 35% or less, you must have a cardiac resynchronization device (a special pacemaker).
  • You cannot have an implanted defibrillator (ICD) already.
  • You must not be taking any heart rhythm drugs except beta-blockers or amiodarone.
  • You must be at least 18 years old and under 80.
