Who can take part

  • You had a stroke on one side of your body (unilateral stroke)
  • Your stroke happened more than 2 months but less than 4 months ago
  • Your balance score is low (Berg Balance Scale under 45)
  • Your usual walking speed over 10 meters is under 0.8 meters per second
  • You can walk at least 10 feet with help from no more than one person
  • You are medically stable and have no other nervous system problem besides stroke
