Obeticholic acid to prevent Barrett’s esophagus worsening

Who can take part

  • You have Barrett’s esophagus confirmed by biopsy, showing no dysplasia, indefinite dysplasia, or low-grade dysplasia
  • Your biopsy/endoscopy must show Barrett’s tissue involvement of at least 2 cm, and at least one biopsy has 50% intestinal metaplasia
  • You’ve been taking a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) for at least 28 days
  • You’re 18 years or older, and you can sign consent and follow study instructions
  • Your blood counts and organ tests (kidneys and liver) meet safety thresholds
