Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You have stomach cancer confirmed by biopsy, located in the upper, middle, or lower stomach.
  • Your cancer is considered “advanced” but has not spread to distant organs, and surgery can be done with a minimally invasive distal or total gastrectomy plus lymph node removal.
  • There should be no signs (before or during surgery) that the cancer has spread to far-away organs or directly grown into nearby organs like the pancreas or spleen.
  • You must be able to give written consent.
  • You should not be pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to iodine-type medicines.
