Adaptive chest radiation for newly diagnosed small cell lung cancer

Who can take part

  • Be at least 18 years old and newly diagnosed with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) from a biopsy
  • Have had standard scans (CT chest/abdomen/pelvis, plus a bone scan and/or PET-CT; and CT head or MRI brain)
  • Be eligible for the usual chemotherapy combination called a “platinum doublet”
  • Have lung function tests showing FEV-1 over 1.0 liter and DLCO over 50% of predicted
  • Have chest disease that radiation can target, including some lymph nodes near the collarbone (supraclavicular)
  • Agree to follow study rules, including treatment and follow-up visits
