- You are 18 years or older
- You have been diagnosed with extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer (cancer that has spread beyond one lung)
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans before starting chemotherapy
- Your blood counts (white cells, platelets, hemoglobin) are within a safe range
- Your liver and kidney function are good enough for study treatment
- You have not had major surgery in the past 2 weeks
