Who can take part
- You have esophageal squamous cell cancer confirmed by pathology, using a sample taken before treatment
- Your tumor is in the chest (thoracic part of the esophagus) and is considered operable stage II–III
- You are age 18 to 75 and can function fairly well (ECOG 0–1) with an expected survival of at least 12 months
- Your heart, lungs, bone marrow, liver, and kidneys must meet lab/test thresholds (including a breathing test and ECG)
- You can sign consent and follow the study plan
