Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
- You must have been diagnosed with squamous cell esophageal cancer that can be surgically removed (or might be removable after treatment).
- Your cancer must be in a specific stage (T2–T4a, with or without lymph node involvement) and the tumor must be less than 8 cm long.
- You must be healthy enough for surgery and have good heart, lung, kidney, and blood function.
- You cannot have had chemotherapy or radiation therapy before for this cancer.
- You cannot have a serious autoimmune condition or have had an organ transplant.
