Who can take part

  • You’re between 18 and 49 years old
  • Your ankle feels unstable or you’ve had an ankle sprain history that fits either an acute (new) or chronic (ongoing) pattern
  • You can walk, and you don’t have a cast that can’t be removed
  • You’re able to join physical therapy and attend treatment sessions for about 6 weeks
  • You don’t have certain past injuries or conditions (like prior lower-limb surgery, bone fractures needing realignment, or connective tissue disorders)
  • You’re not pregnant and you don’t have nerve/balance conditions that affect walking
