Who can take part
- Your baby is currently in the PICU or NICU at the Medical University of Vienna
- Your baby is older than 36 weeks (corrected age) but under 24 months
- Your baby has a breathing tube and a ventilator for at least 6 hours, and doctors expect it for at least 12 more hours
- Doctors strongly suspect acute bronchiolitis or pneumonia based on symptoms and chest X-ray
- Your baby has severe lung distress based on an oxygen-need calculation (OSI) and oxygen changes over time
- Parents can give written consent
