Who can take part
- You must be in the intensive care unit (ICU).
- You must have pneumonia (diagnosed by chest X-ray, CT scan, or signs like new cough, breathing trouble, or colored mucus).
- You must have low oxygen levels despite extra oxygen (oxygen test showing PaO2/FiO2 ≤ 300 or SpO2/FiO2 ≤ 315).
- You must be able to lie on your stomach (prone) safely and comfortably, as decided by your medical team.
- You cannot have been on high-flow oxygen, non-invasive ventilation, or CPAP for 4 or more days before this study.
- You cannot need a breathing tube, be in shock (on high-dose blood pressure medicine), or have other serious conditions that prevent participation.
