Sputum test to guide individualized drug-resistant TB treatment

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and newly diagnosed with pulmonary TB based on a culture or Xpert/Ultra test
  • Your test shows rifampicin resistance using the GeneXpert test
  • You started TB treatment 7 days or less ago
  • You can give written consent and are willing to attend regular study visits
  • You are not currently in MDR-TB treatment after completing 7 days (the study is for very early treatment)
  • You are not pregnant or breast-feeding (or, if this applies, you must be willing to stop) and not planning pregnancy during the treatment period
